Worked on maintaining the kyma-environment-broker repository, focusing on backend development with Go. Addressed a critical resource-management issue by fixing a file handle leak in the periodic profiling workflow, which previously risked resource accumulation and degraded performance in long-running processes. The solution involved ensuring proper closure of memory profile files after writing, along with adding robust error handling to improve observability and prevent silent failures. This targeted patch enhanced the reliability of memory profiling and overall system stability. The work demonstrated careful attention to regression boundaries and documentation, delivering a low-risk, well-scoped improvement to the project’s backend infrastructure.
