Penny Thomopoulou developed new shared types for Ansys materials in the ansys/aali-sharedtypes repository, focusing on criteria with and without GUIDs as well as material attributes. She implemented robust data structures in Go and introduced type converters to support seamless JSON marshaling and unmarshaling, enabling reliable data interchange between services. Her work enhanced the material data model, improving type safety and laying a foundation for future extensibility, such as supporting additional criteria or attributes. Although no bugs were reported or fixed during this period, Penny’s contributions strengthened interoperability and prepared the codebase for downstream integrations and evolving data requirements.
