Sam Kompfner engineered robust cloud infrastructure solutions within the hmcts/sds-flux-config repository, focusing on Azure Workload Identity integration and the decommissioning of legacy Video Hearings systems. Leveraging Terraform, YAML, and Kubernetes, Sam standardized identity management across multiple environments by updating Flux and Kustomize configurations, implementing federated identity credentials, and enforcing managed identities for enhanced security. He also streamlined CI/CD pipelines and reduced configuration drift by removing obsolete resources and dashboards, and introduced a private endpoint for production storage to improve network isolation. Sam’s work demonstrated depth in DevOps, cloud security, and configuration management, resulting in more secure, maintainable deployments.

June 2025 monthly summary focused on decommissioning legacy Video Hearings capabilities, tightening security, and simplifying deployment pipelines across three repos. Delivered cross-repo cleanup, removed obsolete configurations and dashboards, and implemented a private endpoint for production HRS storage, reducing maintenance overhead and security risk.
