Worked on the Shopify/nixpkgs repository to improve MEGAsync’s integration with the nixpkgs build environment, focusing on build system compatibility and stability. Addressed a persistent bug by updating MEGAsync from version 5.9.0.3 to 5.12.0.1, ensuring alignment with available dependencies. Optimized the build process by disabling optional components such as PDFIUM and FreeImage, which reduced build and test failures related to missing dependencies. Leveraged skills in build systems, package management, and the Nix language to streamline continuous integration and simplify maintenance. Documented all changes for traceability, enabling straightforward auditing and rollback while preserving core application functionality throughout the update.
