Worked on the GEOS-ESM/GEOSgcm_GridComp repository to streamline climate modeling workflows by delivering two targeted features. Used Fortran and Bash to remove an obsolete input preparation script, reducing maintenance overhead and clarifying the workflow for future users. Expanded data accessibility by implementing export specifications for whitecap moment (WCM) data, enabling downstream retrieval and analysis across multiple model components. Focused on improving onboarding and data quality by documenting the new WCM export interface and ensuring deprecated processes were fully retired. The work demonstrated a methodical approach to workflow simplification and data export, leveraging climate modeling expertise and shell scripting skills.
