Worked on the apache/camel repository to deliver a refactor of the KafkaRecordBatchingProcessor, focusing on enhancing Kafka batch processing reliability and handling of expired records. Addressed a critical issue where expired records could be missed if new records arrived, ensuring all records are processed and reducing the risk of data loss. Improved the batch processing logic by resetting the processing timer after each batch, which increased throughput and stability. Utilized Java and backend development skills with a focus on message queues and Kafka integration. The work resulted in more efficient and reliable batch consumption of Kafka messages within the Camel framework.
