In December 2025, André Duarte developed foundational data models for smart destinations within the smart-data-models/incubated repository. He introduced ElectricVehicleMobility, TourismDwellTimeObserved, and TourismPresenceObserved models, each designed to enhance data collection and enable richer analytics for destination management. Using JSON and YAML, André applied domain-driven naming conventions and modular schema design, ensuring the models could be easily integrated into existing analytics pipelines. His work focused on robust data modeling and schema definition, laying the groundwork for downstream dashboards and analytics. This contribution deepened the repository’s support for API development and JSON-LD, addressing evolving needs in smart destination analytics.
