Adva-cg developed a character-by-character highlighting feature for partial word translation in the koreader/koreader repository, focusing on enhancing the precision of text selection within the application. Leveraging Lua for frontend and UI development, Adva-cg introduced a new move_by_char mode in the highlight dialog, which users can toggle via a long-press gesture on edit controls. This approach improved translation accuracy by allowing finer segmentation of text, directly supporting more advanced translation workflows and accessibility. The work demonstrated thoughtful UI/UX design and incremental feature delivery, with clear traceability through pull requests and commit history, though no critical bugs were addressed during this period.
