Worked on the rdkcentral/meta-application-rdke-dev repository to enhance external network communication for Thunder UI within embedded systems. Focused on build systems using BitBake, the developer modified the WPEFramework binding patch to ensure it is always applied, removing the previous restriction that limited it to debug builds. This adjustment standardized external connectivity across all build variants by updating the rootfs_postprocess_command and eliminating the distribution check. The work streamlined the configuration process, making Thunder UI’s external communication enabled by default. The approach demonstrated a methodical application of embedded systems knowledge and build automation to improve consistency and connectivity in the deployment pipeline.
