Worked on resolving a user and group ID conflict in the rdkcentral/meta-application-rdke-dev repository, addressing a provisioning issue specific to Realtek devices. Focused on embedded systems and system configuration, the developer updated the UID and GID from 1000 to 1001 to prevent clashes between the Amazon non-root user and the vpu group during device onboarding. This targeted bug fix, implemented using BitBake and Linux user management, ensured reliable creation of necessary users and groups, eliminating provisioning errors. The work demonstrated attention to detail in patch development within a Yocto/OpenEmbedded environment and maintained clear traceability through Git-based version control.
