In February 2025, Afy worked on the Energinet-DataHub/energy-origin repository, delivering a feature that enhanced CI/CD authentication and deployment workflows. Afy replaced the traditional deploy_key approach with GitHub App credentials, specifically integrating github-app-id and github-app-private-key, to improve security and streamline credential management. The work included upgrading the acorn-actions CI tooling to version 4, which further strengthened the pipeline’s maintainability and security. Using yaml and GitHub Actions, Afy’s changes reduced credential exposure, simplified key rotation, and enabled more reliable, faster deployments across environments. The project demonstrated a focused, security-conscious approach to automation and compliance within CI/CD processes.
