During February 2026, Again Against enhanced the safedep/vet repository by delivering CEL evaluation improvements focused on time-based policy evaluation. They implemented a now() function to provide current timestamps within CEL filtering, and introduced configurable evaluator options to allow flexible error handling and clock management. To improve test determinism and runtime stability, Again replaced the Kubernetes clock with a deterministic custom clock, ensuring more reliable and reproducible results. Comprehensive tests were added to validate the new features and configurations. This work, using Go and backend development skills, deepened the reliability and flexibility of policy evaluation and accelerated development cycles.
