Worked on the safedep/vet repository to deliver enhancements for CEL evaluation, focusing on time-based policy filtering and improved test reliability. Developed a now() function to provide current timestamps within CEL filters, enabling more dynamic and accurate policy evaluation. Introduced configurable evaluator options, allowing for flexible error handling and custom clock management. Replaced the existing Kubernetes clock with a deterministic custom clock, which improved test determinism and runtime stability. Comprehensive tests were added to validate the new features and ensure robust functionality. The work was implemented using Go, with an emphasis on backend development and thorough testing practices throughout the process.
