Worked on the UVicSatelliteDesign/COMP_SLIP-OBC repository to overhaul the flash memory interface and improve camera data handling for an embedded satellite subsystem. The approach centralized flash operations, redefined sector configurations, and introduced offset-based read and write methods in C, enhancing both data integrity and maintainability. Additionally, fixed a GPS UART data reception issue by updating the hardware interface to use the correct UART peripheral, ensuring reliable GPS data processing. The work aligned with mission reliability and data quality requirements, leveraging skills in embedded systems, firmware development, and flash memory management to deliver robust storage and communication functionality for space-grade applications.
July 2025 (2025-07) performance snapshot for UVicSatelliteDesign/COMP_SLIP-OBC: Delivered critical enhancements to the flash memory interface and fixed GPS UART data reception, resulting in more reliable camera data storage/transmission, stronger data integrity, and easier ongoing maintenance. The work aligns with mission reliability goals and data quality requirements for space-grade subsystems.
