Worked on the canonical/snapcraft repository to streamline error handling in the snapcraft_legacy module by removing Sentry error reporting. Focused on reducing external dependencies and aligning the codebase with security and privacy objectives, the work involved eliminating all Sentry-related imports, configurations, and error handling logic. Leveraged Python for code cleanup and refactoring, ensuring that in-house visibility into issues was preserved without relying on third-party services. All changes were validated through continuous integration and testing, confirming no user-facing regressions. This update reduced the maintenance burden and improved the long-term manageability of error handling within the legacy path of the project.
