Worked on enhancing the reliability of the Iceberg SQL connector in the anthropics/beam repository by addressing issues with complex type handling in ROW constructors. Focused on improving the correctness of nested arrays and structs within SQL integration tests, the work involved implementing explicit type casting to ensure accurate interpretation of complex data structures. This approach reduced test flakiness and stabilized continuous integration outcomes, leading to more robust and maintainable test scenarios. Utilized Java and SQL for integration testing and data engineering tasks, ultimately improving test coverage and maintainability for scenarios involving complex types in the Iceberg SQL connector’s ROW constructors.
