Ahmed Masalha focused on enhancing the reliability of security health metrics in the microsoft/Application-Insights-Workbooks repository by addressing a critical issue in Azure Security Center’s vulnerability reporting. He identified and corrected the unhealthy resource count, ensuring that only resources with an 'Unhealthy' status were included in the dashboard metrics. This work involved refining KQL and SQL queries to improve data accuracy, directly impacting the trustworthiness of security dashboards used for decision-making. Although no new user-facing features were released during this period, Ahmed’s targeted bug fix improved the integrity of vulnerability reporting, demonstrating depth in Azure Security Center and data query optimization.
