Worked on backend data integrity improvements for the Chainlit/chainlit repository, focusing on refining how SQL metadata is managed within the ChainlitDataLayer. Addressed a bug where existing metadata could be unintentionally overwritten by ensuring updates only occur when new data is provided, thereby preserving historical information and reducing the risk of data loss. Utilized Python for backend development and database management, implementing changes directly in the chainlit_data_layer.py module. This work enhanced data quality and governance reliability, supporting more accurate downstream analytics and minimizing operational risk. The approach demonstrated careful attention to data handling and robust backend engineering practices.
