Worked on the Shopify/grpc repository to enhance both testing reliability and performance benchmarking. Addressed flaky macOS PHP unit tests by removing a deprecated Timeval PHPUnit test, resolving shutdown segfaults and improving CI feedback speed. This involved careful test hygiene and deprecation management using PHP and PHPUnit. Later, updated the performance testing cluster configuration to direct benchmarks to a production-grade GKE environment, ensuring test results accurately reflected real-world conditions. Leveraged skills in CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and shell scripting to align validation processes with live production, supporting better capacity planning and reducing the risk of misleading performance metrics in ongoing development.
