Worked on the vmware/govmomi repository to enable Kubernetes-compliant storage profile naming within Storage Policy Based Management (SPBM), addressing compatibility and automation needs for Kubernetes-driven storage policy management. The work involved designing new internal SPBM types and methods in Go, updating dependencies, and implementing resolve, update, and query capabilities for storage profile names. By aligning SPBM naming conventions with Kubernetes requirements, the changes streamlined storage provisioning and improved policy enforcement for Kubernetes environments. The project demonstrated skills in API development, backend engineering, Kubernetes integration, and storage management, with a focus on internal type refactoring and dependency management to support evolving infrastructure needs.
