In September 2025, Adam Kasprzok developed the OpenTelemetry Collector Builder (OCB) package for the cashapp/hermit-packages repository, focusing on standardized, cross-platform build automation. Leveraging HCL and DevOps practices, Adam configured the OCB package to support custom OpenTelemetry collector builds across multiple operating systems and architectures. The implementation included versioning and SHA256 checksums to ensure artifact integrity and traceability, reducing manual build steps and streamlining release workflows. By specifying binaries, test commands, and download sources, Adam enabled reliable, scalable deployment of OpenTelemetry collectors. This work demonstrated depth in build tools and infrastructure automation, addressing reproducibility and maintainability in collector distribution.
