During February 2025, Cam H. enhanced the cashapp/hermit-packages repository by adding arm64 and aarch64 binary support for the fd package, starting from version 10.1.0. Cam implemented architecture-aware source URL construction and updated SHA256 checksums to ensure reliable, integrity-checked downloads across multiple architectures. This work streamlined cross-platform package management and reduced manual intervention for users installing on arm64 systems. Using HCL and leveraging skills in cross-platform development and packaging automation, Cam’s contribution improved the reliability of multi-architecture releases and simplified CI packaging workflows, demonstrating a focused and technically sound approach to expanding Hermit’s cross-architecture distribution capabilities.
