During October 2024, Al315234 contributed to the yt-dlp/yt-dlp repository by implementing a domain update for the CCMA extractor to support the new 3cat.cat domain. This work involved updating the regular expression patterns for URL validation, aligning the API integration to retrieve media information from the revised endpoint, and developing comprehensive test coverage to ensure reliability across the new domain structure. Using Python, Al315234 applied web scraping techniques and regular expressions to adapt the extractor’s logic. The scope of work was focused and technically thorough, addressing a specific domain migration and ensuring the extractor remained functional and robust for yt-dlp users.
