During July 2025, Ben van Oudtshoorn focused on enhancing the Parlview video extractor within the yt-dlp/yt-dlp repository. He migrated the extractor to a new API endpoint, updating both URL matching and data extraction logic to align with the revised API structure. Using Python and leveraging his skills in API integration and web scraping, Ben refactored the codebase to improve maintainability and adaptability for future API changes. He also revised the test suite to ensure accurate and reliable retrieval of Parlview video information. This work improved the stability of downstream data pipelines and reduced the risk of inaccurate metadata ingestion.
