Worked on the open-webui/open-webui repository to enhance MCP Server Discovery robustness and improve compatibility with Google endpoints. Developed a status-agnostic discovery mechanism for MCP Protected Resource Metadata, allowing the process to continue regardless of HTTP status codes and prioritizing WWW-Authenticate resources when available. Introduced a fallback to RFC 9728 well-known URIs, ensuring discovery succeeds even when PRM documents are missing. This approach reduced connection failures and onboarding friction with remote MCP servers, particularly those operated by Google. The work leveraged Python for backend development and focused on API integration and OAuth, emphasizing reliability and maintainability in server connectivity workflows.
