Developed a configurable State of Charge (SoC) range feature for Kostal Plenticore Gen2 meters within the evcc-io/evcc repository, enabling users to define minimum and maximum battery charge thresholds for safer and more flexible operation. Leveraged configuration management principles and yaml to update device template configurations, ensuring that the new SoC parameters are consistently applied across different setups. This work established a foundation for scalable battery management customization and future device support, focusing on maintainable configuration practices. The implementation addressed a key need for user-driven battery control, enhancing the adaptability of energy management systems without introducing new bugs during the period.
October 2025: Implemented configurable minimum and maximum State of Charge (SoC) range for Kostal Plenticore Gen2 meters within evcc-io/evcc, enabling users to tailor battery operation and safety constraints. Changes are reflected in device template configurations, paving the way for consistent device-level behavior across setups.
