Worked on the OpenC3/cosmos repository to deliver robust XTCE v1.2 integration and major enhancements to the XTCE converter, focusing on spacecraft telemetry and command interface tooling. Applied Ruby and XML processing skills to implement subsystem splitting, command and telemetry ID matching, and derived telemetry item support, while enforcing clean code practices and test-driven development. Improved data conversion reliability and configurability by refining argument handling, XML schema design, and packet time association. Maintained and refactored code for maintainability, expanded unit test coverage, and resolved integration risks, resulting in more accurate telemetry workflows and streamlined onboarding for downstream users and developers.
Month 2025-12 — OpenC3/cosmos: Delivered substantial XTCE converter enhancements and cleanup that improve telemetry processing reliability for derived items, time handling, and XML structure, while strengthening test coverage and maintainability. This work reduces data representation errors, accelerates troubleshooting, and enables more accurate TELEM/command handling in downstream pipelines.
