Worked on enhancing the robustness of command packet handling in the OpenC3/cosmos repository by addressing a targeted bug in the xtce_parser component. Focused on ensuring that telemetry items cloned into command packets were assigned correct range and default values based on their data type and bit size, which prevented runtime errors during command processing. The solution involved introducing a method to set these properties automatically, thereby improving reliability in telemetry and command workflows. Collaborated cross-team to deliver this fix, utilizing Ruby and Ruby on Rails for backend development and unit testing to ensure maintainability and reduce downstream maintenance risks.
