Worked on stabilizing the user interface for the NewSpeciesHighlights feature in the tphakala/birdnet-go repository, focusing on restoring the previous layout and functionality after a redesign. Addressed a regression by reverting two UI refactor commits, ensuring that the NewSpeciesHighlightsCard and related dashboard highlights maintained their original appearance and behavior. Utilized Svelte and TypeScript to implement these changes, prioritizing UI consistency and minimizing disruption for users. The approach preserved code quality and prevented additional support issues, allowing ongoing development to proceed without design drift. This work emphasized rapid response to regressions and careful maintenance of front end reliability and stability.
