Worked on the teslamate-org/teslamate repository to enhance the reliability of MQTT health status publication within the backend system. Addressed a bug where the 'healthy' status message was not consistently published and ensured the MQTT retain flag was disabled, preventing stale health messages from reaching new subscribers. This adjustment improved the accuracy of health monitoring and telemetry observability for fleet integration, supporting safer and more responsive operations. The solution was implemented using Elixir and leveraged expertise in backend development, MQTT protocols, and system design. The work focused on robust message delivery and reducing confusion for subscribers through precise system behavior.
