Focused on refining extension detection logic in TypeScript, the developer prioritized codeium.windsurf-remote-openssh over anysphere.open-remote-ssh to streamline compatibility. Implemented clear, user-facing error messaging to inform users when no compatible remote SSH extension is detected, reducing setup friction and improving the overall user experience. Leveraged skills in remote development and VSCode extension development to align the extension’s behavior with Wind/Surf-OpenSSH workflows. The work improved reliability and usability for remote SSH connections, addressing a key pain point in remote development environments.
