Worked on the google-gemini/gemini-cli repository to address a UI reliability issue affecting tmux sessions. Focused on improving the terminal capability manager by refining background color detection logic, specifically by ignoring the #ffffff color to prevent false positives that previously led to incorrect UI states. This targeted bug fix enhanced the stability of the CLI interface across diverse terminal environments, resulting in a smoother user experience. The work involved close collaboration with other contributors and leveraged TypeScript for both full stack development and testing. The contribution demonstrated attention to detail in terminal UI behavior and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
