Worked on the ministryofjustice/cloud-platform-environments repository to standardize resource tagging across multiple cloud environments. Introduced a centralized service_area variable in Terraform, replacing hard-coded tags to ensure consistent tagging for payments, frontend, assessments, and stubs namespaces. This approach improved resource organization, governance, and production readiness across dev, staging, uat, and prod environments. Addressed compliance requirements by reverting a tagging change in laa-assess-a-claim-frontend-dev, restoring previous behavior. The work involved cleaning up duplicate variables and refining tag locations, enabling better cost attribution and auditing. Demonstrated skills in AWS, Terraform, and Infrastructure as Code, with a focus on change management and compliance.
Month: 2026-04 — Key outcomes: Delivered standardized service_area tagging and default resource tagging across all environment Terraform configurations in ministryofjustice/cloud-platform-environments. Implemented centralized service_area variable and propagated default tags across payments, frontend, assessments, and stubs namespaces, replacing hard-coded tags to improve resource organization, governance, and production readiness across dev, staging, uat, and prod. Performed tagging structure cleanup, including removal of a duplicate service_area variable and fixed tag locations. Notable change: reverted service_area tagging addition in laa-assess-a-claim-frontend-dev to satisfy compliance considerations and restore prior tagging behavior. This work was executed across multiple namespaces with CLAS-258 commits, enabling better cost attribution, auditing, and policy enforcement. Technologies demonstrated: Terraform tagging, environment governance, change management, and compliance awareness.
