Worked on enhancing device interoperability and automation in the arendst/Tasmota and home-assistant/core repositories, focusing on Home Assistant camera integration and media player control. Delivered features enabling streaming video and image capture from Tasmota cameras, as well as exposing detailed webcam statistics for improved observability and diagnostics. Implemented asynchronous programming and backend development in Python and C++, ensuring reliable integration with Home Assistant. Added mute and unmute functionality for media players, including comprehensive unit testing to verify behavior and handle unsupported features. The work emphasized robust IoT integration, streamlined device discovery, and improved user control within home automation environments over a two-month period.
