Developed and deployed an automated Slack notification workflow for the mongodb/docs-notebooks repository, targeting DevDocs mentions across pull request comments, reviews, PR bodies, and issue comments. Leveraged GitHub Actions, JavaScript, and YAML to expand workflow triggers, enhance security by switching execution context to pull_request_target, and improve maintainability through configuration refactoring. The workflow increases visibility for DevDocs-related discussions, reduces manual triage, and streamlines collaboration among contributors. Additional improvements included renaming workflow files for clarity, updating team aliases, and consolidating triggers to support future automation. This work focused on CI/CD best practices and security-conscious integration with Slack for real-time notifications.
