Delivered OpenTelemetry instrumentation for HTTP routes using Clojure, introducing trace-based monitoring and enabling end-to-end visibility for production requests. Updated middleware to automatically instrument routes, improving trace fidelity and aligning with Splunk APM integration. Later, optimized observability by removing the Datadog Java tracer from the Docker deployment process, leveraging Splunk autoinstrumentation at the pod level to reduce configuration complexity. Focused on API development, backend engineering, and DevOps practices, the work established a maintainable foundation for monitoring and troubleshooting across deployments.
