Developed and integrated a new tkl_f13_ansi_tsangan community keyboard layout for the novelkeys/nk87 product line within the srwi/qmk_firmware repository, focusing on expanding layout options and improving maintainability. The work involved updating keyboard.json configurations and reverting a previous rules.mk change to streamline build integration, which reduced friction for future contributions and maintenance. Leveraged skills in embedded systems and keyboard firmware development, utilizing JSON for configuration and Makefile for build process refinement. The changes enhanced the NK87 product family’s support for community layouts, enabling faster onboarding and more efficient collaboration within the open-source QMK firmware ecosystem during the development period.
