Worked on the factorialco/factorial-one repository to enhance the Rich Text Editor by introducing support for string user IDs, addressing compatibility with GraphQL BigInt types. This upgrade involved migrating the editor’s ID handling from integers to strings, ensuring seamless integration with the GraphQL schema and reducing the risk of ID-type mismatches during collaborative editing. The solution was implemented using React and TypeScript, focusing on front end development best practices. By enabling flexible user mentions and improving data consistency across migrations, the work streamlined editor workflows and minimized potential errors related to user identification in the application’s collaborative features.
