Developed and delivered an archive creation and packaging feature for the google/copybara repository, enabling automated generation of ZIP, JAR, TAR, TAR.GZ, and TAR.XZ archives from specified files or glob patterns. The implementation introduced ArchiveUtil and the archive.create method, focusing on reproducibility and artifact packaging within Copybara workflows. Comprehensive test coverage was added to ensure reliability, and user-facing documentation was written to support adoption. The work leveraged Java for core development, Starlark for scripting integration, and Markdown for documentation. No major bugs were addressed during this period, with efforts concentrated on expanding build system capabilities and workflow automation.
