Arnej Duranovic enhanced telemetry capabilities for the CDCgov/prime-reportstream repository by introducing item-level tracking to the REPORT_RECEIVED event. He implemented an itemCount property in Kotlin, enabling more granular observability of inbound reports for dashboards and SLA monitoring. This backend development work focused on improving the accuracy and utility of telemetry data without introducing risk to existing workflows. By refining how report data is captured and analyzed, Arnej’s contribution provided clearer insights into system usage and performance. The changes were scoped to a single feature, demonstrating targeted engineering depth in observability and backend systems, with no bugs reported during the period.
