Worked on the itchyny/go repository to deliver a runtime improvement focused on garbage collector livelock mitigation. Addressed GC progress issues under high workload by introducing explicit preemption when no work was available and adding a goschedIfBusy mechanism to yield the goroutine during the GC sweep phase. This approach reduced latency spikes and CPU contention, resulting in smoother garbage collection and improved runtime stability. Demonstrated skills in concurrent programming, garbage collection, and system programming using Go, with a methodical approach to runtime-level debugging and code tracing. The work emphasized incremental, well-documented changes that enhanced reliability and user-perceived performance under load.
