Worked on enhancing observability and reliability for core bridge components in the apache/activemq-artemis repository by exposing bridge connection status through JMX. Developed and integrated an isConnected() method within the BridgeControl interface, allowing real-time monitoring of bridge health for operators. Implemented comprehensive integration tests in Java to validate bridge status before, during, and after changes in target server availability, ensuring robust monitoring capabilities. Focused on backend development and messaging systems, the work enabled proactive incident detection and reduced mean time to recovery for mission-critical messaging bridges. No bugs were fixed during this period, with efforts concentrated on feature delivery.
