Worked on the ros2_documentation repository to enhance the reliability of installation instructions by addressing a critical bug in shell command examples. Focused on improving the handling of double quotes within awk commands, the contribution ensured that installation steps are interpreted correctly across different shell environments. This update, implemented using shell scripting and reStructuredText (rst), reduced the likelihood of user setup errors and minimized support requests related to installation issues. By refining documentation quality and eliminating ambiguous command syntax, the work contributed to a smoother onboarding experience for users following the installation process, emphasizing robust cross-shell compatibility and maintainability.
