Developed and integrated a new D-Bus backend for the Mako Notification Daemon within the chimera-linux/cports repository, focusing on enhanced notification handling and improved interoperability with desktop and system notification components. The work involved updating the build system and headers to support D-Bus integration, leveraging skills in C programming, build system management, and package management. By enabling external system notifications and laying the groundwork for broader integrations, this contribution streamlined workflows and contributed to a more cohesive user experience. The implementation was delivered as part of version 1.10.0, reflecting a targeted and technically robust approach to backend system enhancements.
