Worked on the splunk/addonfactory-workflow-addon-release repository to enhance CI reliability and streamline test automation. Focused on stabilizing CI upgrade tests by removing unnecessary sudo usage in apt-get update and refining test triggers within reusable GitHub Actions workflows. Introduced gating for automatic upgrade tests on pull requests to the main branch, ensuring they run only when explicitly labeled, which reduced CI noise and optimized resource consumption. Adjusted TA version defaults to maintain consistent upgrade testing across environments and improved junit XML parsing for more accurate test result reporting. Utilized YAML for workflow automation, emphasizing robust CI/CD practices throughout the project.
