Worked on enhancing X.509 certificate handling in the indigo-iam/iam repository, focusing on expanding support for DER-encoded and URL-encoded PEM certificates. Refactored the certificate parsing logic in Java to improve robustness and ensure compatibility with client certificates delivered through common ingress proxies such as Nginx and HAProxy. This backend development effort addressed authentication edge cases by accommodating a broader range of certificate formats, thereby improving interoperability and reliability across deployment environments. The changes strengthened the security posture of authentication pipelines by supporting diverse certificate representations, leveraging expertise in Java, backend development, and security-focused X.509 certificate handling throughout the process.
