Worked on improving the login flow accessibility in the lichess-org/lila repository by implementing a targeted enhancement to keyboard navigation. Addressed a usability issue where the username removal button could be accidentally focused after entering a username, which disrupted the sign-in process for keyboard users. The solution involved adjusting the tabindex of the removal button to -1, ensuring it is skipped during tab navigation and thereby reducing user friction. Utilized Scala for the backend logic and applied UI/UX design principles to enhance the onboarding experience. All changes were documented and committed for traceability, supporting future accessibility compliance and auditability.
