In September 2025, Bays enhanced the Flipper Zero firmware by implementing horizontal text scrolling for infrared remote button labels within the flipperdevices/flipperzero-firmware repository. Using C programming and embedded GUI development skills, Bays addressed the challenge of truncated button names by enabling labels to scroll horizontally when their length exceeded the display width. This targeted UX improvement ensured that users could view full descriptive names for remote functions, streamlining setup for remotes with verbose nomenclature. The work focused on a single feature, delivered with clear, traceable commits, and demonstrated a practical approach to embedded interface usability without introducing unnecessary complexity.
