Contributed to the macvim-dev/macvim repository by enabling Vim to run on classic AmigaOS 3.x systems, delivering the first modern build for this platform since 1998. Developed a dedicated AmigaOS 3.x build target and implemented compatibility shims in C, addressing system-specific requirements such as safe_Lock handling and gethostname workarounds. Integrated cross-compilation support using the bebbo toolchain and libnix, optimizing the binary for the 68k architecture. Automated testing on FS-UAE Workbench 3.1 verified functionality with 23 passing tests. This work expanded cross-platform coverage and preserved legacy support, demonstrating expertise in C programming and system-level development.
April 2026 monthly summary focusing on key accomplishments for macvim-dev/macvim. Delivered groundwork and first-class support to run Vim on classic AmigaOS 3.x (68k) within the repository. Implemented a dedicated AmigaOS 3.x build target and accompanying runtime/compatibility shims, enabling cross-compilation with the bebbo toolchain and libnix (-noixemul). Verified via automated tests on FS-UAE Workbench 3.1 (23 tests passing); produced a 2.2 MiB binary optimized with -Os -m68020. This work expands platform coverage, preserves a legacy user base, and demonstrates end-to-end platform enablement from build to runtime.
