The effort clarified requirements for user-defined and provider-defined tags, updating prefix and encapsulation rules to align with established conventions. Using Markdown and technical writing skills, the changes aimed to ensure consistency and reduce confusion in cost allocation and reporting. The documentation update was linked to a specific work item and commit, supporting traceability and governance. This work enhanced data quality and improved the accuracy of downstream FinOps analysis and reporting.
