During December 2024, Bess Cerule developed a feature for the hmrc/trader-goods-profiles-frontend repository to improve review reason handling for goods records. She introduced a ReviewReason enum in Scala and integrated it into the SingleRecordView, refactoring the frontend to simplify code paths and align API responses. By consolidating logic from the former ReviewReasonController into the SingleRecordController, she reduced maintenance overhead and clarified user workflows. The work, implemented using Scala, HTML, and the Play Framework, streamlined the review process by guiding users directly to relevant actions, ultimately reducing navigation steps and enhancing the overall efficiency of goods record management.
